Variant Chess, published quarterly by the British Chess Variants Society, is devoted to all forms of chess play under unorthodox rules.

Vol 3 1997-1998 (editor G.P.Jelliss), issues 21 - 28, 176 pages A4.
Vol 4 1998-1999 (editor J.D.Beasley), issues 29 - 32, 68 pages A4.
Vol 5 1999-2002 (editor P.V.Byway), issues 33 - 40, 136 pages A4.
There is also a 4-page glossary in Vol.5 numbered as issue 00.
Vol 6 2002-2004 (editor P.V.Byway), issues 41 - 44, 68 pages A4.
Vol 7 2004-2007 (editor J.D.Beasley), issues 45 - 54, 168 pages.
Vol 8 2007 -2010 (editor J.D.Beasley), issue 55 - 74, 244 pages A4.
Most recent (and final) issue of VC is Vol 8 issue 64 August 2010
